When Bitzer talks about the rhetoric situation he wants to know about the nature of those concepts in which speakers or writes create rhetorical discourse. This meaning that he wants to know several questions such as: How should they be described? What are their characteristics? Why and how do they result in the creation of rhetoric? These questions are the important to the overall construct. When he says that the rhetoric is situational he means that it occurs in of course, various instances. Not every situation is rhetoric. One of the shows that I have watched this week is called Bigmouth and is about teenagers going through puberty.
The mode of this show is informative and narrative because the show tells a story about the life of the teens, but it informs its audience about how puberty works. It teaches life lesson but in a way that is more understanding to the average person. The media of the show is television but can only be seen on Netflix. The audience is teens and adults, this is because the show has some vulgar words that is not very suitable for children below the age of 17. The genre is fiction because it is a cartoon and is not an actual event or people’s lives. The style of this cartoons people with heads that are much too large for their bodies. The design is colorful and has an array of different characters.
These elements all convey the purpose of the composition because each element is applied to give the show a sense of purpose for the people. The purpose being entertainment as well as teaching. Most people are well aware of the purpose of the show and it has then gained popularity within the population of people who own Netflix and fit the age group intended audiences.
The word exigence means an issues or situation in which causes a person to write or speak. The rhetorical situation must include a speaker or writer, an issue, a form of speech or a written text, and finally an audience. This occurs a lot throughout the show because it has all the elements needed. Such as if Ellie (the speaker) is frustrated at her parents getting a divorce (the problem) and speaks to her friend Steve about it (the speech and audience) then she has thus created the rhetorical situation.
