A Friendship dispute

It was a rainy summer day outside my friends and I, Morgan and Bekah (short for Rebecca), were all caught in the rain. We all ran to the closest place open place, the Sweet Shop.

“Kayla run faster or we’ll all get soaked!”

Morgan yelled while laughing. I was lagging because I was wearing my stylish polka-dot black and white rain boots, which they were totally jealous about because their vans and converse were soaking their socks. As we walked inside Bekah slid into the first empty booth.

“Ugh, thank goodness we didn’t get that wet, Kayla you should have told us it was going to rain so much!”

Bekah said in a quite rude tone.

“Ha even if I told you, you wouldn’t have even listened!”

I retorted back. I thought to myself that Bekah has been acting quite rude lately. Morgan tried to smooth things out between us but she agreed with me.

“Ok guys enough, it’s not a big deal. Look we’re at the sweet shop too! Maybe let’s order something nice that we can all share”

I agreed with her idea so I went up to order for all of us and decided to get something sweet like smoothies. As I was heading back I heard Morgan saying something.

“Hey Kayla look, this the booth we where we wrote on the wall our freshman year! I completely forgot!”

Morgan giggled excitedly and reminisced. Since we’re all juniors now we’re too busy to go to the sweet shop all the time. So the gals and I just study together at each other’s places. Well, all except Bekah because she’s being a class “A” snob lately.

“Ugh ew, that’s still there? I’m going to cross out my name. That’s so embarrassing.”

Bekah stated very clearly with her, I repeat, class “A” snob voice. Morgan and I looked at each other and I could clearly see the hurt in Morgan’s face as her nose started to scrunch up and eyes water up.

“Wow Bekah, if hanging out with us is so bad now then leave. You don’t see that you’re hurting our feelings? Or do you just not care about what you say? Look at Morgan!”

My tone was harsh and I was pissed. Why hangout with us if you’re going to be like this? I thought to myself. Bekah took one look at Morgan and then me and laughed.

“Whatever I was getting tired of you annoying brats anyway”

She stomped out and didn’t look back.

“What a jerk”

I thought.

“Kayla I’m sorry I tried to stretch out this friendship with her, I have no idea what made her change so much. I knew this friendship was already over when she started messing with Cole”

I couldn’t agree more but obviously I wouldn’t say that to her face to I shook my head and walked back to the counter to get our ice cream.

“Here let’s share this and forget about her, it’ll be Morgan and Kayla forever instead”

She smiled and laughed,

“Of course”

Later on I became a successful Psychologist and Morgan became an engineer. I guess you can say that whatever happened to me, Kayla, was that I became a person who knew who my real friends were.
