The Writer
Another wicked day within the media,
Sanse learns to create an entire half-truths encyclopedia,
He is disappointed with his “journalism” of multimedia,
His true purpose was to write about the truth not transmedia.
It is time for him to write another misleading story,
So he does his research on a current event in the African category,
He doesn’t know much about Africa due to the west’s glory,
He does his usual routine and makes the another one of its stories derogatory.
He does not realize how damaging are his words,
But due to our lack of teaching of the continent is isn’t overly absurd,
People believe the story about the nation with its image blurred,
It could have made the slightest change if only his words would reword.
Another article that made the continent unremarkable,
If only our parents and teachers were more observable,
We would see the damage being done is terrible
and just maybe make a change that would be reportable.
The Teacher
Rebecca is a one of a kind teacher,
Who has a student and is not afraid to teacher her,
She thinks of Education as a treasure,
Yet treats the continent of Africa as an imaginary creature
She does not think much about it,
But her student has a very curious spirit,
She asks to learn more about the continent and its features,
This confuses Rebecca more than she is willing to admit
This is because she does not know much about the continent herself either,
She was taken aback because she thought of herself as an education believer,
But realized that she had dismissed and entire continent in disbelief,
And know knew she was appeasing the deceivers.
She had read an article just this morning about the African continent,
And knew that she must change her teaching plan with an attitude that was confident,
She needed to do her research that was of the entire truth but quality,
She was ready to learn more about this continent make her students know it was prominent

The Student

Anastasia is learning about Africa with its plenty natives,
She’s learning to be more creative,
Nigeria, Kenya, and Ghana are some she can discuss in different places,
That she learned about and wants to live.
Her teacher admits she is no expert,
And only recently became interested because of a certain disappointing pressure,
Her parents are learning from their child,
Which is new because her mom is a woman who teaches amazing lectures.
Anastasia is more well rounded in her overall knowledge,
And will surely remember this information even in college,
She knew the country as more than a place of typical starvation,
And would someday make an article that would be acknowledge,
Children marvel at new discoveries to attain,
Wanting to travel to places far and wide just like the rain,
She is an example of what happen when we teach about the good of Africa,
Because teaching is the key to cursed African perspective chain.
The Professor
The Professor is full of knowledge as always,
Her daughter is young and going through a faze,
It helps her realize how much she does not know,
She is learning more about Africa from her daughter and is amazed
She teaches various courses,
All with many different sources,
She sees the bias in an article about Africa,
And understood this is where a teacher reinforces.
She talked to her coworkers and asked them various questions,
But they told her they did not know much except its oppression,
This was the problem,
How can we as parents teach our children if we disregard these teaching sessions?
She began to educate herself and then her fellow associates,
Trying the provide some change in the perspective that dictates,
The impact of one person is important,
Opening new opportunities within this country’s gates.

The Coworker

Annie has many coworker full of life,
She works at the university but can also say shes a full time wife,
A professor came in and started telling about Africa and she realized something important,
She knew little of the country and that cut her like a knife,
You see Annie is also a fulltime blogger that travels everywhere,
She was visited plenty of countries and continents but thought Africa was a nightmare,
She did her research and booked a flight,
There was no way she was going to leave this space in her blog bare
She landed and was a little frightened,
This made her senses very heightened,
She looked around the countries of Ethiopia, Uganda, Zimbabwe,
And was overly enlightened,
She doesn’t know how she missed a continent so amazing,
The place was so full of life it was blazing,
This doesn’t mean she didn’t see the bad and knew every country had its problems,
The country isn’t bad at all so all the bad western articles was just hazing
She wrote about the country including good and bad,
She knew people would read her blog since she is pretty rad,
Her blog hit a million views with just that one trip,
All it takes is one person to teach another even in undergrad.

Goodbye

Gracious Loved Ones, we bid you farewell,
For your time here was a just a passing phase,
Go up to the lord, in the enchanting sun-rays,
Have faith, be of peace now

Fly to the sky in peace,
Your blood is just materialistic,
The sacrifice you made was noble,
We will ensure the fighting will cease
Thank you

Children say your prayers, for they have left in pain,
They suffered from The White Man’s burdening game,
But do not keep hatred, but do keep your flame,
Don’t let the deaths discourage your future, or their suffering will be in vain
Children sway your prayer, for they have left a gift,
You are their legacy, and the ones who can change this world
Their bodies are in ground and furled,
The sky opens as their soul’s drift.

A triad of Imagery: 3 Poem Collection

The soil

so life courses though
soil,
feet touch its top,
slippery water sinks
between its cracks,
plants bursts through from its
inner,
life ends within its dark brown
walls

The Life

green and yellow Savannah,
leaping yellow lions,
Black on white,
Zebras,
The wind whistling above the lavish green trees,
Greeting the purple tongue of the
Giraffe,
Life is full, yet soft, yet loud

Judgement
The reds, oranges, and yellows of the
sunset,
Shimmering shades of skin,
Colorful laughter of people,
Soft wet tears of sorrow down young faces,
A gleaming flag floating above the horizon,
A mother kissing her child,
A daughter holder her brother
A “dark” continent misjudged by another

Journalist

There was a Dorky Young Journalist,
Who thought of countries as glamourous;
So big in size,
It captured his eyes,
He was a Dorky Young Journalist.
He wrote the truth about Africa,
A tale that went from happy to sad indeed,
It made him drop to his knee,
When he heard an opinion, a strange conclusion, of the beautiful country to see,
That very next day, he had to say, he wrote the truth about Africa
The student
There was proud young student,
A glorious girl really,
She memorized every country on that continent,
From Zambia, Guinea, and Libya,
Even ones that rhymed with amphibia,
This was a proud young student to see.

With glorious curly, kinky hair,
A student who could really exceed,
Everyone who saw her really could have agreed,
She was proud to be an African and was a proud young student to see.
